Short Layers with Disconnection

The Cut

This trendsetting look is a definite shorter-cut showstopper. The disconnection is really a combination of two cutting techniques: the short layer and the longer layer. When combined, the cuts promote movement and texture for the hair. The longer layers in front add fullness and frame the face. In this example, the hair was colored with just five foils in the bang area to create depth, interest and dimension.

The Styling

A styling cream, like Paul Mitchell Quick Slip, provides flexible hold and definition for the disconnection. A medium round brush on the top only was used to create this look.

Try a clarifying shampoo once a week, especially if you apply hair products every day. And don’t forget to condition – it helps maintain moisture balance and keep hair healthy.
