How Soon Before an Event Should You Get Your Hair Cut?
The year is full of special events—weddings, holiday parties, anniversaries, graduation parties, work parties, first dates, networking events. With pictures being taken, bosses to impress, and memories to be made, you want to make sure you look clean, sharp, and ready to go. But how long before an event should you get your hair cut?
The short answer: Three to five days.
The longer answer: You don’t want to get your hair cut the day of an event, or even the day before, because it will look like you just got your hair cut. Giving hair a couple days—some even say a full week—before an event allows the new cut to settle in and fall more naturally, so you just look like the best version of yourself. Plus, this allows you time to stop back in and have your stylist make any corrections on the cut if it didn’t turn out quite like you envisioned.
And if you’re in a wedding or going to any other event that will be well documented, opt for a classic cut. You don’t want an ultra-trendy look to date you in these types of situations. Something with a clean-cut neckline and side-burns, with an inch or two of length on top and tapered down on the sides will be just the thing to give you a timeless, well-groomed air.
Keep in mind, your Supercuts stylist is always there to help guide you to the right cut that will both reflect your style and suit the event you’re attending.
